In the wake of betrayal and tragedy the Heaven Hill family is reeling, Caelin was asked to help when they needed him the most. Actions from that day have haunted him ever since, not knowing how to handle his emotions he reveals his darkest secrets and insecurities.

This short story gives us an insight into how Caelin handles the events that have changed him forever; we also get to hear from the famous Dr Jones that we all have fallen inlove with throughout the Heaven Hill Series.

I personally loved this story; Fury took a toll on anyone who has been a fan of the series from the beginning. Knowing that we would be left with more questions Briscoe has delivered the best; Heaven Hill Shorts which is 10 stories from all our favourites.

Caelin was a boy in a mans body, until a traumatic event made him grow up too soon. This is his story of how he comes to grip with this event. I have loved all of the Heaven Hill series and this novella certainly is up there as one of my favourites.

Caelin is clouded in confusion after Steele forced his hand. Unable to cope in meaningless high school drama, Caelin does what any member of Heaven Hill does and seeks out Dr. Jones. Once he has figured out who he is and how to process he can begin to help Justice. This short story managed to give me all the feels in about twenty minutes of reading, I was so angered at Steele for doing such a stupid, idiotic thing. Watching Caelin work through his feelings and accept that things will never be the same brought on a feeling of peace, still very hopeful for Justice, and grateful for the courage showed by Meredith and Tyler.

This is such an important piece of Caelin’s story that desperately needed told, and needed to be told by itself. This very much allowed him to leave behind the boy and walk out a man. It was a road paved with good intentions that left scars.

I can't stress enough how important it is to read the Heaven Hills Series as well as the Next Generation before reading this novella. The intricate relationships that Laramie Briscoe weaves throughout the HH & HH Next Gen series are vital in order to understand just how Caelin's story starts.
